brick city cuts the ribbon
by marketing team in news/events at 2:20 pmOn October 28, the City of Newark welcomed Websignia to its new home at 60 Park Place, across from Military Park. Some of our neighbors include PSE&G, WBGO, the Robert Treat Hotel, Prudential Center and New Jersey Performing Arts Center (NJPAC), to name a few. The event was a casual affair attended by Websignians Dalmar James, Adam Wolff, Danielle Davis, Chris Anderson, Juhong Lee and Marcia Ashby, as well as interns Cerise Joseph and Rachel Min. Presiding over the event was Newark Deputy Mayor, Stephan Pryor, joined by Brick City Development Corporation’s CEO, Lyneir Richardson, and Municipal Council President, Donald Payne. Also in attendance were friends, family, and the who’s who of Newark’s small business owners and community leaders.
Rev. Sheila Gibson, from First Baptist Church of Lincoln Garden, blessed the new office, praying for continued growth and opportunity. She pointed to Websignia’s design as a blessing to the businesses that it has touched and showered praise on our great work ethic and exemplary service.

Cory Booker, Mayor of Newark, was slated to cut the ribbon but was called away at the last minute. The honor then fell to Deputy Mayor Stefan Pryor, Lyneir Richardson, and Donald Payne, Jr. During an emotional address to the group of admirers, employees, and well wishers, Steve confessed that when he started Websignia seven years ago, he had no idea where he was headed but he knew he was on to something good. He recognized the Websignia team for their hard work and creativity and acknowledged that without the team, he would not be opening a new office.

BCDC’s Lyneir Richardson addressed the gathering and remarked that “Websignia represents every facet of the BCDC mission statement”, which he said is “to retain, attract and grow businesses, enhance small and minority business capacity, and spur real estate development within the city.” Stephan Pryor commented that “Websignia is bringing competition to the city in the form of web design and marketing and the city will benefit from your presence”.
Councilman Payne expressed hope that, “Websignia will call Newark home for a long time to come.” To that we say, we are proud to be a part of the Brick City family and we look forward to a long, prosperous and mutually beneficial relationship with the City of Newark and those who call it home.
