Made in Newark (www.madeinnewark.net) is an initiative started by Mitch Cahn of Unionwear, a Newark based manufacturer, to raise the visibility of goods actually made: in Newark. The movement kicks off with the unveiling of an ecommerce shop selling locally manufactured goods during the NCAA East Regional Tournament in Newark (March 24 to 27). The Made in Newark site development and marketing are being led by Websignia with FEMWORKS handling the public relations. The campaign so far has enlisted over 40 local manufacturers, including: Serratelli Hat Company , Benjamin Moore Paints, The Manischewitz Company, Mel Gambert Shirts, French’s Mustard and Damascus Bakery.
