Join the Made in Newark Movement

Overview

Made in Newark (www.madeinnewark.net) is an initiative started by Mitch Cahn of Unionwear, a Newark based manufacturer, to raise the visibility of goods actually made: in Newark. The movement kicks off  with the unveiling of an ecommerce shop selling locally manufactured goods during the NCAA East Regional Tournament in Newark (March 24 to 27). The Made in Newark site development and marketing are being led by Websignia with FEMWORKS handling the public relations. The campaign so far has enlisted over 40 local manufacturers, including: Serratelli Hat Company , Benjamin Moore Paints, The Manischewitz Company, Mel Gambert  Shirts, French’s Mustard and Damascus Bakery.

The Made in Newark shop opened on march 23rd with authentic Hoopfest gear and the list of manufacturers joining the movement is steadily growing, so, new items will continue to be added. Keep abreast of the of the growth of  this initiative and buy products Made in Newark.
